Therapy is a big step

Laura smiles while standing in front of a window in an office. She's wearing a white shirt and brown pants.

It’s natural to have questions about what it will look like, how long it might take, and other aspects of the counseling process.

If you can’t find your answers here, reach out to schedule a call, and I’d be happy to answer your questions.

  • I currently accept Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, Oscar, and Optum

  • The private pay rate is $155 at each session, and I can provide you with a Superbill. It is important you check with your insurance provider for out of network benefits. Please be sure to ask the following:

    1. Do I have out of network benefits?

    2. Can you explain my benefits for individual counseling, in person, and Telehealth?

    3. What will my insurance company cover for an out of network provider?

    4. What is my deductible and/or out of pocket max?

    5. How do I submit for reimbursement?

    6. How long do I have to submit my Superbill?

I partner with Thrizer, a secure platform that helps you understand your out-of-network benefits before starting therapy. Thrizer can estimate your reimbursement, verify your coverage, and simplify superbill submission so the process feels more manageable and less time-consuming.

You can check your out-of-network benefits here: Laura Bowling Counseling—THRIZER

If you’d like, I can also help you understand what your specific plan may cover during our initial consultation.

  • It is dependent on your specific needs and goals. While some clients work on a particular issue, others may need more ongoing support.

  • Therapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges without judgment. A skilled therapist can help you: gain clarity, develop coping skills, improve relationships, heal from the past, and boost confidence.  Whether you're facing a specific challenge or seeking personal development, therapy empowers you to create meaningful changes and live a more fulfilling life.

  • Rather than giving direct advice, I will guide you by asking thoughtful questions, offering new perspectives, and teaching tools or techniques to help you navigate challenges.  I might share insights or suggest strategies if they align with your goals, but the emphasis is always on empowering you to make choices that resonate with your values and needs.

  • Counseling works best when the client is motivated, committed to and engaged in the therapeutic process, self-reflective, and goal-oriented.
